MEAGHAN FLAHERTY, INTERN

Meaghan is an aspiring counselor whose dedication to wellness was ignited by an elective course in high school and deepened through relationships with friends who faced mental health challenges during adolescence. After earning undergraduate degrees in psychology and dance from Hofstra University in 2019, she immediately began working in an adolescent mental health program. With over two years of experience in linking individuals and families to community services, she continues to focus on making compassionate connections to optimize various dimensions of well-being, which remains a cornerstone of her therapeutic approach.

Currently pursuing a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling from the University at Buffalo, Meaghan plans to obtain an advanced certificate in mental health counseling, with expected graduation dates of May 2025 and May 2026, respectively. Meaghan is passionate about integrating personal empowerment and strengthening the mind-body connection through therapeutic movement practices. Her approach emphasizes the creation of a safe environment that promotes mindfulness and enhances self-awareness, which Meghan believes is crucial to supporting clients in achieving their goals.

Meaghan aspires to specialize in counseling individuals with anxiety, depression, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), life transitions, chronic illness, and dual diagnoses, utilizing a person-centered, acceptance-based therapeutic lens.
